Thor Oliversen Blues Train is a blues band from Stavanger, Norway, combining original material (© Thor Oliversen) with selected interpretations of both modern and classic blues artists. The band draws inspiration from musicians such as Robben Ford, Robert Cray and Matt Schofield, while also including material from tradition-bearers like Muddy Waters, Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Guy and Tony Joe White. The result is a repertoire ranging from melodic modern blues to more earthy and raw roots-based expressions.
A full album of original compositions is planned for recording and release in 2026.
